What is Follr? What Does Follr Do?
Follr – All Your Social Profiles and Communities in One Place
Do you remember the good old days of exchanging business cards? You meet someone and chat then give your calling card out in the end so they can do business with you in the future.
In that business card, everything that the other person needs to know about you is there: important contact details such as business address, business phone number and even your business email address.
The back of these cards were usually left empty in case you wanted to write down your personal contact details or any other specific information for that matter.
Well, in the digital age, we have what’s called Follr. Let’s face it. Almost every professional has an account on any major social media platform – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. You name it, they’re probably on it.
In the age of digital communications, it would be quite a hassle to hand out a business card with links to your social profiles (although that idea is not too shabby either and a good way of keeping the print medium alive). This is where Follr comes in to help you gather all your social profiles and other communities all in one place.
With Follr, everything can be kept up to date too. Business cards are physical objects and once your email address or phone number is no longer the same that would render the card quite useless if a potential business contact doesn’t get in touch with you straight away.
With a permanent address on the web, they can see which details you have changed and which details remains the same. And that is the beauty that Follr brings for you.
When you look at Facebook, Twitter and others you quickly find that you are very limited in making your other social pages readily available. On this one point, Follr (to the best of our knowledge) is unique from all other social media networks. That is because at Follr you can create icon links to nearly every other social platform on earth! Cool factor on this = 5 stars.

A Guide to Follr for YOU
Once you sign up with Follr, you will have a URL like this one: http://follr.me/ImpactSocialMedia. Your page will have your picture up top and in the middle. The rest of the page will be filled with anything and everything in the web that has to do with you.
You can create your Follr account in minutes
There are different sections within your homepage where business contacts can learn more about you. There is a Skills section where you can highlight the things that you are most adept at. There is also an Influence section which can be used to display your credibility score from sites like Klout.
Adding your contact information at Follr
Of course, the dominant portion of your homepage will be your social profiles and other web addresses. These will be listed on one hand of the screen while the rest is filled with the updates you have made on your social networks. Basically, any post that you make on Google+, Twitter, Facebook, etc., etc. will be displayed in your homepage.
Follr lets you add ALL of your social pages
As you can see, Follr provides a great outlet where a potential business partner or anyone who you’d like to communicate with in the industry can get a glimpse of who you are. Rather than opening up each and every one of your social profiles, you can just give them your Follr homepage and they can see everything from there.

A Guide to Follr for COMMUNITY
Other than being the one place where all your social profiles and web addresses can be accessed, Follr has lots of great communities that you can join in too. Whether you love Game of Thrones or the New York Jets, there’s a community waiting for you.
It’s a form of networking where you can bond with people who share your interests. Within the community are different sections like Photos, Documents and Discussions. The very first day of signup with Follr we just could not resist the offer and immediately created a community page. It was simple to setup and we quickly created and uploaded custom graphics. As with the personal page we were also able to easily add all of our social media pages. You can visit our Follr community at https://follr.com/Communities/KansasCityBiz

Follr Community streams ALL of your social activity
When you want an “online business card” that you can give to people you’d like to get in touch with, Follr is a great choice for that. Plus, you’ve got the added bonus of being able to join different communities where you can discuss your interests to your heart’s content. For us the most impressive feature here is the unique capability to store and stream all of your social media activity from one central location.
You should be aware that there is a fee here albeit it does seem reasonable. We like the fact that the first 30 days are free as this gives you the chance to test run the place for free before you commit.
As far as a wish list for Follr we would like to see a few more social options added such as SharePoint Site, Wanelo, Manta, Merchant Circle, Plurk, Odnoklassniki Page, Odnoklassniki Community, Datpiff, Soundcloud, Vine, WeHeartIt and WordPress.Com Blog. According to their page one only needs to submit an email request to have additional social platforms added and we are going to give this a try for the above mentioned items.
UPDATE: Guess what? Literally within minutes of submitting a request to add in the social platforms just listed above this was the email response I got: “Hi Mark, Sure thing – we’ll let you know when they’re done. Cheers, Mark.” Note: This rocks and I am impressed!
Email response I received within minutes of requesting more social options
One last wish list that we would insist on is more choices for the personal profile theme. The existing choices lack any white or light grey colors and consequently we were unable to find a good match for our branding and theme. It would also be cool if they could make a way for some personal theme customizations such as you find at Tumblr, Plurk and other platforms. This would increase flexibility for users to implement the proper color palette to perfectly match their brand and theming.
Overall we think this is a very unique, interesting and useful social media platform. We also think you should give it good consideration and especially if you are active in a variety of social media places. If you have questions, suggestions or tips about Follr please post them here below this post. You are also invited to connect with us at Follr by visiting http://follr.me/ImpactSocialMedia.
