2015 Social Media Predictions Review

Social Media Predictions are interesting and popular but not always accurate. It is now half past 2015 and what do you think about the predictions made for 2015?

Here are just 5 Social Media Predictions combined:

  1. Photo Sharing : Will still be very hot in 2015
  2. Mobile : Will be popular, it is important to be familiar with all the mobile apps
  3. Google+: In danger of becoming obscure
  4. Customer Service : Engagement & Management Strategy
  5. Stats : Businesses will be relying on stats in making their Social Media decisions

Now how did those 5 turn out:

  1. Photo Sharing : Yep… it’s hot alright – Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat and others
  2. Mobile : Yep… Social media usage on mobile is growing
  3. Google+: Nope… Google+ is still a dominant force with newly added features
  4. Customer Service : Yep… Social Media for customer service tasks is a growing industry
  5. Stats : Yep… Big data mining has gone to new levels with social media statistics

4 out of 5 isn’t bad! What’s in store for the rest of 2015? What do we anticipate for 2016?

As of August 2015, we cannot argue that Photo Sharing is still trending and even in content posting the importance of photos is always emphasized. The popularity of mobile internet, people using their mobiles to manage accounts, and continuous development of smart phones is increasing the reach of social and all other internet sites and apps.

Although a lot are still confused on the role of Google+, its functions and features cannot be ignored and is already proving its importance in the social media community. For customer service, the rise of the employment of community managers, virtual assistants and others related to this signifies the importance of Social Media for customer service functions.

And lastly, the big data being produced by social networks like Facebook, Twitter and others will be scrutinized for trends and marketing strategies. A great example of this will be the use of social stats to help gauge the effectiveness of the various political campaigns and how well their messages are received.
